Dubrovnik nature and climate
Dubrovnik nature
The mild, outspokenly Mediterranean climate makes Dubrovnik appealing in winter as well, with fine sunshine, the palm trees standing side by side to the blossoming orange and lemon trees bearing ripe fruit at the same time.

The sun shines over Dubrovnik from sunrise to sunset. There are more than 250 sunny days in the year, with the approximate yearly temperature of about 63°F (17°C), while the average temperature in the winter months is 50°F (10°C).

The maximal summer temperatures are usually about 77°F (26°C and rising !). Snow is a rarity in this area, and so are temperatures below 32°F (0°C) .

The average temperature of the sea in summer is about 67°F (21°C and rising!). The bathing season begins in April, sometimes even earlier and lasts to the end of September, sometimes even longer. Many hotels have indoor swimming pools; that makes bathing possible throughout the year.
